Owner, Vidya Gauci, is a celebrated Santa Barbara muralist and decorative artist who has been creating exceptional murals, trompe l’oeil, stenciling, ornamentation, custom paintings, and hand-painted fabric and furniture for a distinguished clientele, both residential and commercial, since 1998.  She also offers expert color consultation, and with her crew, a wide array of wonderfully crafted and skilled decorative finishes.

CLASSIC ART TRAINING

Professionally, Vidya received extensive fine art training in New York City, where she earned her fine arts degree, in California, and in Italy, where she studied the old masters.  Following a contemplative vocation, and a decade of creating sacred art, Vidya apprenticed with a decorative arts guild, and in 2000 established Vidya Gauci Decorative Fine Arts in Santa Barbara, CA.

ART METHOD

Vidya’s disciplined method is defined by extensive research, providing scale drawings and painted samples of the proposed work, followed by refined application techniques that are achieved with exacting attention to every step while rendering the full-scale painting installations.  She is also environmentally conscientious in choice of materials and applications.

Professionally, Vidya is especially known for her ability to harmoniously collaborate with designers, architects, and clients alike to co-create the timeless art and decorative effects they desire, and be on time and within budget. She is also a recognized teacher of meditation, and of studio fine art and decorative art.  In 2011, Vidya was awarded two competitive art commissions for the new Santa Barbara Airport Terminal; and in 2012, her work was published in: The California Casa, by Rizzoli Publications, which features the noted photography of Melba Levick.
